1/8

Here's a random journal entry from today:

Wolf Pack Radio blares hip hop form one corner of the hub-bub creating the usual amount of noise that has become necessary for any college get together. Normally, there wouldn't be this many people in front of the Library, but today is a "club" day or "fair" day. I'm not sure why this is happening. Perhaps it's for UNR to show off their wide diversity of clubs. There is, actually, a wide array of clubs: Night of all Nations, Intervarsity, Circle K, Rugby, business, racial, social and unique clubs of all kinds have tables lining the perimeter of the concrete where the grass allows. People walk in and out of the crowds and conversations. Some on thier way to class, some actually looking for clubs, but all clearly in search of free food.
In the grassy area behind the various tables, some students are lobbing a football back and forth. Each time they throw the football, I secretly hope someone misses the ball rocketing it onto someone's booth causing confusion and indignant stars as the victims find towels to sop up the mess left by their now empty water bottles.
One booth has seeing eye dogs in training. They're just laying there; seems like a crime for beautiful dogs like that to be laying there and not chasing the frisbee that is being tossed just our of their reach. I'll bet their eyes and hungrily follwing the frisbee frisbee back and forth... or maybe they're just eyeing the roast beef sandwiches you can get from the Student Union table as long as you fill out a card and get the signatures from three different booths.
Oh well, at least the sun in shinging and plenty of people are smiling and enjoying their temporary reprieve from the demands of a rigorous academic schedule.
